Download: Find Your Creativity
Every child likes to paint, draw, create things and present what they made to the world.
When a young child creates something and gives it to you, what do you do?
When a young child creates something, most people celebrate the work, smile and encourage the child to keep at it so he can be a “famous artist someday”.
Unfortunately for most children that day never comes and they spend their lives doing things they don’t enjoy. They lose their sense of wonder and with it, much of their creativity.
If children have natural creativity why do so many adults find it hard to scribble on a napkin?
Things happen in life that make you begin to question your natural ability.
Our creativity starts to decline as we experience things that challenge our beliefs. We begin attending art class in school and are judged for our creativity; All but a few of us begin to doubt our talent.
Creativity, like so many other skills, must be nurtured, enjoyed and believed in for it to improve at the highest level. Natural talent can help a small bit but natural talent won’t replace practice.
If you don’t believe in your own creativity or enjoy creative visualization you won’t be compelled to put in the time, practice and work necessary to reach mastery of any type of creative art.
Close your eyes. Let your mind wander and let your heart wonder.
Believe that you can create anything and you can.
Believe that you are a creative being and you are.
