Download: Finding Friendship
Friendship is an intriguing and diverse topic. Some friendships are made instantly, while others require time and nurturing to develop over a period of time.
Friends can be any size, shape, color or religion. There are many types of friends and many definitions of the word friend but the one thing that is common among any friendship is commonality; friendship is a recognition that we’re not alone in the world.
Friendships remind us that there actually are people in the world that share our interests, our desires, our quirks, our nutty politics, our habits and our beliefs or even our disbeliefs. Friends usually have preferences similar to our own. If we’re lucky, they might even find our jokes funny too.
Friendships don’t last forever. Many things can happen through the course of life that takes us in different directions – death, location, change of interests and many other things can make even the strongest friendships disappear. If you’re fortunate enough to have some friends in this world, let them know you appreciate them. Celebrate friendship.
Friendship is hard to find. Time is never unlimited. If you do nothing else today, reach out to at least one or two people and let them know that you value and appreciate them.
Develop a habit of appreciating others and showing it in some way.
In a few years you’ll be glad you did.
