Each one of us on occasion, as if waking from a sudden dream, has said things like “where has time gone”, “I can’t believe it’s already the holiday” and “I can’t believe I’m x number of years old already”. What even happened to our lives? What happened to last week? Last month? Last year?
You shouldn’t take your life, or the things in it, for granted. Life is all you have. It’s precious. It’s something you need to cherish and respect because you only get one of them. Yet, how many days do we let our lives slip by as if it didn’t even really matter to us at all?
Living every day of your life doesn’t mean that every day you eat sixteen egg whites and run a marathon. It doesn’t mean you have to go for the gusto every minute you breathe.
Living every day simply means doing something each day that gives it value; it can be anything really as long as it adds some kind of meaning to you, in the big picture. Do something that you can look back on a week later and say “hey, I did that”. Do something that has meaning to you.
I will do something today that has true meaning or value in my life. Maybe I will read up on an exciting new hobby, begin writing more, or start spending more time with those I love. All things are possible.
I want to value my life more, and I realize that without making a plan and taking action, nothing that means the most to me will happen. So, I need to start planning out my “bucket list” and begin to do the things that help me to realize those dreams.
Each day matters. So I need to make each and every day count.
I’m going to live every day.
