We tell ourselves.. “Next year I’ll take a vacation”, “Tomorrow I’ll work on my resume”, “Once I finish XYZ then life will be good”. We give ourselves excuses to take the day off from our selves.
We spend so much time looking at the horizon that we often fail to see the small things, subtle changes, gentle whispers, or bother to just sit and be thankful for today.
And soon your today will become your tomorrow.
If you can remember many great and wonderful moments across your timeline, then you are probably living a good life and you practice mindfulness. If you cannot, or life seems to have only but a few common themes or moments, you are wasting your life. Plain and simple.
Each hour in your life builds a day and each day eventually becomes your life.
What moments you have already built can never be changed but day by day, hour by hour, you do have control to right the direction of where you may be going.
Slow down. Appreciate each day. Eliminate the bad habit of putting the important things in life on the back burner. You don’t want to miss your life while it’s happening in front of you.
The only requirement of life is that you live it and try to make the small moments count.
Loved ones die. Seasons pass. Things change. We all grow old one day.
Make life count. Moment by moment.
