Download: Trusting Responsibility
Believe it or not, most people actually learn by doing, not reading or watching YouTube videos.
For many of us, it can be stressful to completely surrender control or responsibility to another. What if they fail? What if something happens? What if I can do it better?
Do you want to handle the most difficult things by yourself? If not, then you’ll need to learn to share responsibility and provide trust that things will go right.
Letting children home alone for the first time can be stressful. What if they injure themselves? What if the house catches fire? What if this happens? What if that happens? Children never learn to be independent unless we give them responsibility and show them trust.
It can be difficult to delegate responsibilities to our coworkers at times for the same reasons we may fear for our children doing the dishes for the first time. What if something gets broken? Your coworker won’t be able to step up their game or learn if you don’t let them try.
Responsibility and trust are two of the most powerful tools for growth. Be open to giving yourself big goals or challenges and then trust in your ability to achieve them. You’ll achieve them all.
If we can learn to trust one another and be open to sharing our responsibilities, nothing in the world would be too difficult. No task or project would be impossible.
Together, we’d achieve it all.
